I have been an ipsy subscriber for 9 months now, and I am running out of space for their monthly Glam Bags! Check out these ideas to reuse ipsy bags in cute and useful ways.
What is ipsy?
In case you haven’t heard of it, ipsy is a monthly subscription service for beauty products. Like I said, I have been a member of the famous ipsy Glam Bags for 9 months now. I have to say, I love the excitement of getting my bag in the mail, and the products are usually very good quality. Also, their Glam Bags are great value-wise. For just $10 a month, you get 4-5 beauty random products, chosen for you according to a quiz about your beauty preferences.

If you subscribe to ipsy through this link, I will receive ipsy points, that I can redeem for additional beauty products later. Reuse ipsy Bags!
I am throwing away old beauty products and storing the ones I have gotten in my ipsy subscription. However, the empty bags are taking up space, so I have decided to give them a new purpose. Here are some cute and useful ideas so you can reuse your ipsy bags too!
1. Sunglasses Pouch
Although the ipsy bags are usually not firm enough to keep your sunglasses from being crushed, they can be used to keep them from getting scratched inside your handbag. You can also keep a cleaning cloth in there, just in case.
2. Wallet Bag
If you are like me, your wallet is probably about to burst. But not because you have a lot of cash… Mine is usually filled up with reward cards from a bunch of different stores, and a ton of receipts I always forget to throw away. You can reuse one of your ipsy bags as a wallet. That way, you’ll have enough space for everything. You can also choose to use one with a zipper for loose change.
3. Secret Personal Products
Sometimes you just have a few items in your handbag that you don’t want other people to see, like pads or tampons! There’s really nothing wrong with people seeing them, but sometimes I feel awkward if they do, I don’t know why, so I prefer to keep them concealed in a pretty bag.
4. Munchies Bag
I always like to carry snacks with me, just in case I get hungry. I’ve had moments when I get low blood sugar, and eating a sugary snack helps me feel better. There’s been times when a friend starts feeling dizzy and my snacks save the day! Nevertheless, snacks do tend to get crushed inside my handbag, and the package or wrapper can break open… And then I have to clean up the mess. Having a bag for your snacks can save you that trouble!
I recommend you use your least favorite bag, in case the mess gets too hard to clean and you have to throw it out!
5. Tech Bag
If you still carry around a point and shoot camera, or maybe a hand-held video game console, you can reuse an ipsy bag as a case to keep it from getting scratched. It also works great for chargers or headphones, to keep them from getting tangled with other items.
6. Oops Items
Have you ever had a rip in your clothes in the middle of an important event? Ok, so it’s not the end of the world, but it’s nice to carry some items with you in case you have to repair your clothes, or you break a nail, or forget to put on perfume. You can keep this bag in your car, so you don’t add more weight to your handbag.
7. Gift Bag
Make your friend smile by giving them a cute little gift inside an ipsy bag! That way, it’s like they got an extra gift, because they can use the bag for any of the things we’ve listed here. It’s not even necessary to decorate them, but I just added some tissue paper to make it more gift-like.
I’ve heard that some people set aside the products from their subscriptions that they didn’t intend to use, and they put them inside an ipsy bag to donate them to a women’s shelter. I loved that idea!
8. Pencil Case
Another great way to reuse ipsy bags is to get all your pencils and other school supplies together in one place, so you don’t lose them at the bottom of your backpack!
9. Mini Purse
I think this is my favorite way to reuse ipsy bags now! Transform your ipsy bag into a cross-body mini purse.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to transform this specific bag, because it’s one of my favorites and I didn’t want to damage it in case I didn’t like the result, so this is just a pretend mini-purse. However, I found this video that explains how to do this in a more professional way. I’m probably going to use that method to do it anyway, because I loved how cute it looks!
10. Makeup-brush Pouch
Sometimes I don’t have enough time to get ready at home, so I take a few travel-sized makeup brushes to finish later. Instead of throwing them inside your handbag, where they can get squashed and messed up, use an ipsy bag to protect your makeup brushes.
There are tons of other great ideas to reuse ipsy bags, like using them for your toiletries in case you are sleeping away from home, or storing your travel documents all together (like your passport, i.d. and plane tickets) so you don’t lose them, making your own nail essentials kit, storing your crafting tools like pliers and clippers, or for keeping a notebook and pen for your daily journaling.
I hope these ideas to reuse ipsy bags are as useful to you as they’ve been for me!
