Here’s a very simple and useful idea to get organized and be productive each day. Having a daily tasks list helps you put your life in order and your mind at ease.
In the past weeks we have written several times about being productive and setting goals. This is because we have found it very important in our lives to get organized in order to achieve what we want. Our days work in different ways for each person, but we all have tasks and goals we want to achieve.
In my experience, having a daily tasks list helps A LOT in getting things done. I talked about this in a previous post (How To Love Mornings) because I found it to be an important part of my day, where I can unload every thing I have to do onto paper and not have to have it in my mind all the time.
How simple is it?
What I do is, I take any notebook (I choose a cute one because I have to look at it every day!) and add an entry for the day. I add the date and the day of the week. I don’t write my tasks list every single day, so I don’t use a predated notebook, but you could if you want to.
Then I write each task I have for the day. It doesn’t matter if it’s something simple or easy to do, I like to write it because then I can start working on the easy things first to warm up, and then go on to the more difficult tasks.
How does having a tasks list help?
Well, for me it helps to get everything off my mind and concentrate on just one thing at a time. If I start writing the list the night before, it helps me sleep better because I’m not thinking of what I need to do the next day, I can just relax, knowing that I won’t forget. Most times I make the tasks list in the morning, and that gives me purpose for the day, helps me set my priorities and some times even force me to do things that otherwise I would just say “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
If you want to take it a step further, you can have multiple tasks lists in different notebooks, depending on your circumstances. For example, you can use one notebook for your home tasks, other for work, or for personal goals, etc. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be! You can also use colored markers or washi tape and stickers to make it prettier if that’s your style.
