It’s time for beauty favorites! I tried some great products this month. Check them out!
Is January really over already?! This month has gone by fast! Still, I always make time to try out some new products, and I’m really loving the ones I tried this month.
A reminder, just in case this is the first time you read one of my Beauty Favorites, they’re not all brand new products. Some have been out on the market for a long time, but I’m trying them out for the first time, and others have been part of my favorites for a while now. I try to include, not only makeup, but also hair and nail products. But to be honest, makeup is what I use most, so it may take over my posts from time to time.
Along with a small review, I’ll let you know where you can get the product in case you’re interested in trying them for yourself. However, remember, my skin, hair, and nails are not the same as yours, so take into consideration your own beauty needs and preferences before buying anything!
*Please note, Paper and Landscapes is not sponsored by any brand and is not paid in any way for our product reviews! However, we have added our Amazon Affiliate links along with each product’s official page.
Beauty Favorites: Januray
1. Real Techniques Base Miracle Complexion Sponges
I have tried other similar sponges before, but I’ve never been too impressed by them. Maybe I just didn’t know how to use them. But these “complexion sponges” by Real Techniques are so great. They are smooth, they don’t break or crack easily, and they are perfect to use damp for a more natural coverage. They’re also easy to clean. I love how each side works for a different part of the face.
And better yet, you get two sponges for about $10, which is the price for just one regular sized original Beauty Blender (which I wanna try someday too). I bought mine at Walmart.
You can also get them on Amazon for $8.24.
2. Nivea Men Post Shave Balm
Yes, this is a men‘s product. If you don’t follow many makeup “gurus”, this might seem totally weird to you. However, I’ve seen girls recommend this product for quite a while now to use as a makeup primer, and I’ve always felt curious about it. Since I was in the need of a new primer recently, I thought ‘why not?’.
Even though I actually ended up liking this product, there are some cons to it that I believe I should mention. First of all, it smells like men’s cologne. I mean, it’s a post-shave balm, of course it will have a manly scent! Still, it’s not as strong as I expected it to be. After applying the rest of my makeup, I couldn’t smell it at all. But I understand if some people decide it’s not for them. The second negative thing is that I found it to be a little bit drying, even when it’s suppose to be a formula for sensitive skin. However, my skin has had all kinds of issues lately, and I can’t be completely sure if that’s what caused the dryness. I’m giving it another chance after my skin feels better.
On the other hand, I think this primer made my pores a little less visible, and it made my makeup look great. So I definitely think it’s a product worth giving it a try, specially because it’s so much affordable than other primers.
I got mine at Walmart for about $6.
You can also get it on Amazon.
3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation
Another product that had been recommended for so long and I had never gotten the chance to try it: Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. I’ve only used it a few times because I got it this week, but I am falling in love with this foundation. It’s definitely one of my beauty favorites now! My pores are actually less visible, and my skin looks so soft! I hardly needed to retouch my makeup because it was matte enough even after a few hours.
I must mention, however, I did use it along with the Fit Me Concealer, and the Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder. They make quite an awesome combo. From now on, I think these are going to be my go-to products.
I got my Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation at a local drugstore for $7, but you can get it from Maybelline’s official website.
Or you can get it on Amazon.
4. Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Creme
I got this 0.75 oz sample on my latest ipsy Glambag, and I loved it. The formula feels lightweight, and my blow dried hair felt to silky smooth. The package says that it is “infused with rosehip, argan, and coconu oils to smooth hair, enhance shine, and tame frizz”, while also protecting your hair from heat damage up to 45° F.
I wish this wasn’t just a sample, because the original size 4 oz product costs $24!
You can get it on Sephora’s official website.
Or get it on Amazon.
5. Pacifica Natural Minerals Blushious Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color
Another awesome product from my latest ipsy Glambag! This blush is a buildable formula that applies smoothly and looks great. It kind of brings a little bit of a highlight too! The shade on the pictures is called “Wildrose“, and at first I thought it would be too dark for my skintone. But I was wrong, I love it! They claim that this blush is “universally flattering“… Maybe they’re right!
(This package has a cute unicorn on the lid, but I guess it’s exclusively for ipsy, because I couldn’t find the same package online.)
What did you think about my beauty favorites this month? I am loving all of them!
