It wasn’t easy, but we did it! We completed the “My Happy Life” Photo Project for this year 2017.
Why do I say that it wasn’t easy? We are all busy with our everyday tasks and jobs and house work and taking time to do something for ourselves is not something we can do often.
As we explained in the previous posts:
♥ This project is all about creating a photo album or scrapbook that represents your life; the things you like, the people you love, the places you enjoy being in, and other things that define in pictures who you are at this moment in time. ♥
If you want to read more about it and how to start, go to this post, where you can get all the information you need to work on this project. There’s also a free printable that you can add to your planner or pin board!
So how did we do?
Well, choosing the pictures for each category and phrase was some times a bit hard, because we have SO MANY pictures stored in our phones. Once we chose them, we printed them at Walgreens. The size I chose for my pictures is 4″x4″.
They didn’t come out exactly as I have hoped, but that’s because I was in such a hurry to print them that I forgot to make sure they were all good quality and had the right size, so some of them came out a bit blurry or pixelated. The other thing was that I wanted them to have a white border around them, but I accidentally chose the wrong width and so the borders are too thin.. but I like them anyway!
I decided I didn’t want to use a photo album for now, because I really liked the idea of putting all the pictures in a bowl or pretty box on my living room so that visitors could take them and watch them and talk about them.
About reaching the deadline… we kinda failed XD. I finished the project about a week later than we hoped. But still, I did it!
Choosing the pictures was hard, but putting together my album was even harder for me. Since I am currently working full time, I hardly have any time for other projects. And being a procrastinator doesn’t help either! It makes me so sad that I didn’t complete this Photo Project, but I will not give up on it.
I really enjoyed going through old photos and looking back to some wonderful times. Also, matching them together with cute scrapbook paper and journaling cards is so fun! My album is still under construction. I desperately need to get organized and set some time apart for personal projects like this one. But I know it will look amazing when it’s done and I’m looking forward to it!
Our thoughts on this project:
Although we felt that we had to pressure ourselves into doing this, because of lack of time or other things, we actually did enjoy it and found that it was all worth it!
We now have pretty pictures in our homes, instead of leaving them all stored in our phones forever. It’s great to sit down and watch them now and then, to remember good memories, and just see what our life looked like this year.
We’re still working on our plans for Paper and Landscapes for next year, and we will sure like to do another photo project again. We hope you’ll join us again next time!
