Here is a very easy DIY idea that you can make to decorate your house or office: Cute and tiny succulents in a box. Check it out!
I have recently moved to a new place, and since I didn’t have many or barely any decorations in my last house, I’m starting over and decided to make (almost) everything myself. I mean wall art, paintings, well, any kind of decoration really. So the first thing I did was this really cute and extremely easy decor for one of the shelves above my desk.
Why is it so easy?
Well mostly because the tiny succulents are actually fake ones! I decided for these instead of real plants because while they do give a nice green and “alive” presence to my desk area, you don’t have to water them or care for them or watch them die (as do most of my plants). You just watch them be pretty. Plus, I wanted to use a wooden box, and I didn’t know if you could put real plants with earth and water in it…
This is what I used:
1: A small wooden box (bought at a local art store)
2: Some pale colored decorative stones (bought at a dollar store)
3: Four fake succulents (bought at Walmart)
So what I did was…
I poured some of the decorative stones in the box and saved some for later.
I bent the stems of each of the succulents. I could have also cut them, but I figured it was better to leave them long, in case I wanted to use them for something else in the future.
So I just put each succulent into the wooden box and arranged them in a way that I liked. Then I poured the rest of the decorative stones over the bent stems to cover them. It’s just too easy.
Succulents in a Box
So now they just sit pretty on my shelf, next to my candles and crochet thread. It gives color and life to my workspace!
Soon I will be making more easy DIY projects to decorate my house, and I will of course be sharing them with you so that you can make them too for yourself, or to give them as gifts for your loved ones. Actually, this wooden box would look so beautiful all gift wrapped!
